Biographical Sketch

Dr. Leslie F. Monplaisir is an Associate Professor and Director of the Engineering Management Masters Program that is offered exclusively to Ford Motor Company and Visteon with an annual budget of over one million dollars. His research interests include: Collaborative Product Design and Development (CPDD), Manufacturing Optimization, Computer Integrated Manufacturing, and Supply Chain Modeling. Dr. Monplaisir has over thirty publications in these areas and directs a NSF funded laboratory in Collaborative Engineering. He has research grants from the NSF and Industry (Ford, Sun Microsystems and Motorola) to conduct ongoing research in global product development. He has recently published a book in Collaborative Engineering for Product Design and Development. He holds graduate degrees in Integrated Manufacturing Systems and Engineering Management for University of Birmingham (UK) and University of Missouri-Rolla. He is a senior member of the Institute of Industrial Engineering (IIE), Society of Manufacturing Engineering (SME) and Institute of Electrical Engineering (UK).
