Biographical Sketch

Dr. received his Ph.D. in industrial engineering from Seoul National University, a premier university in South Korea. His area of expertise is information technology as applied to the global manufacturing enterprise, and has published more than a dozen papers and headed his own start-up company.

    Research Interests

  • Cross-disciplinary research across fields such as information-manufacturing interfaces, manufacturing-technology management interfaces for global supply chain operation.

  • Agile Enterprise Computing and EAI (Enterprise Application Integration) for e-operations such as B2B, ERP, SCM, and enterprise integration.. Current research in progress with Professor Shimon Y.Nof at Purdue University: Information collaboration and integration for global supply chain operations.

  • Third-party contract manufacturing in supply chain chain (special interest in semiconductor manufacturing or electronic commodity manufacturing). Current research in progress with Professor Candace A. Yano at the University of California-Berkeley: Decision models for buyers of third-party contract manufacturing services.

  • Design Informatics and Bio-inspired system. Adoption of nature-inspired knowledge to the design of a manufacturing system, service operation, software, and innovation strategy.

  • Applied optimization to the scalability and survivability analysis of information system.

  • Knowledge management.
